Zul Andra named Editor-in-Chief of Esquire Singapore

Kuala Lumpur, 1 December 2014: Mongoose Publishing Pte Ltd today announced that well-known award winning journalist Zul Andra is the new Editor-in-Chief of Esquire Singapore. Andra joins Esquire having run his own creative content consortium and been a regular contributor for, South China Morning Post, Cebu Pacific and Scoot Magazines. Previously, he has also been the freelance writer and editor for the Time Out Singapore Bar Guide, Web Editor of I-S Magazine and columnist for The New Paper. His face is familiar all over Singapore as one of the country’s most knowledgeable and informed voices on style, entertainment and culture.

Andra has contributed for Esquire Singapore since it launched in 2012. His article “Flash Trade”, for which he documented the lives of female DJs over the course of six months, earned him and the publication the accolade ‘Feature Article of the Year’ at the MPAS Awards in May 2014.

The announcement was made by Graham Paling, Group CEO, Mongoose Publishing. “Following months of speculation and a stringent recruitment process we have found a remarkable candidate in Zul and we are delighted to welcome him to be Editor-in-Chief of this flagship brand,” said Paling.

“Zul is an accomplished, versatile professional who possesses just the right understanding of the media scene in Singapore and how to deliver world class content for the modern Singaporean man. With his proven pedigree in print, digital and creating outstanding content, Zul will propel Esquire Singapore to the next level.”

Andra will replace Sam Coleman as Editor-in-Chief of Esquire Singapore and is the first full-time Singaporean in the role. Coleman will be staying as Editor-in-Chief of Esquire Malaysia until mid-2015 when he will leave South East Asia after more than four highly successful years helming the Esquire brand in the region.
