Sueann Chong named Editor for launch of Women’s Health Malaysia

Mongoose Publishing unveil Editor, Art Director and Sales Manager of the Malaysian edition of the World’s Largest Women’s Health Magazine


13 January 2015, Kuala Lumpur: Mongoose Publishing today announced that Sueann Chong has been appointed editor of the Malaysian edition of Women’s Health, the world’s fastest growing health and lifestyle magazine for women, which will debut on newsstands nationwide in March 2015. Chong joins Women’s Health from HANGER magazine, where she served as Editor. Chong has previously worked on various women’s media brands in Malaysia including Tongue-in-Chic, JUICE and CLEO. Chong begins her role from January 1st and will report to Mongoose Editorial Director Lynette Ow.

“Sueann is an accomplished editor who possesses excellent understanding of the female market and what it means to be a Malaysian woman today,” Ow said. “Her versatile background in print, digital, and brand extensions will help ensure a successful launch of this dynamic magazine that has been so successful internationally.”

Ow also revealed that, in addition to Chong, Mongoose have appointed Shirley Chia as Art Director and Thresa Thian Siew Mei as Senior Sales Manager for Women’s Health Malaysia. Chia was formerly the Art Director on Female Malaysia, and Thresa was Client Service Manager at BrandaVision Sdn Bhd. Both have already started work on the title ahead of launch.

Women’s Health, a brand owned by Rodale Inc. (USA), currently boasts 25 international editions across 50 countries, reaching more than 22 million readers every month.

Women’s Health Malaysia represents an exciting addition to the Mongoose Publishing portfolio, which includes Men’s Health Malaysia, another Rodale-Mongoose partnership.

The new magazine will launch in March 2015, with the first edition to be unveiled at the famous ‘Night Run’, co-branded with Men’s Health Malaysia. The run will take place in Putrajaya on Saturday March 21 with more than 7,000 runners already confirmed.
