Remarkable Success For Esquire Singapore As It Scoops Its First Sparks Awards Achievement

August 21, 2017Esquire Singapore has won another award for the 50th Issue, published in November last year, for the “Best Media Solution – Print” category at the Sparks Awards 2017.

Held last Friday, on 18th August 2017, at the InterContinental Singapore, the win marks the first Sparks Awards achievement for Esquire Singapore.

Taking home the Silver award, this is the title’s third accolade for the 50th Issue. The issue previously won Silver for best “Magazine Overall Design” at the Asian Media Awards 2017 and a win for “Excellence in Magazine Design” at The Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) 2017.

“When you look at all the winners in the Sparks Awards,” Zul Andra, Esquire Singapore’s Editor-in-chief, points out, “almost all of them are from really strong brands or advertising and creative agencies. In the same category that we won Silver in, are print ad campaigns from a coffee brand and an airline that won Gold and Bronze respectively. As the only print magazine that’s recognised amongst some of the strongest brands and agencies in the region, I strongly believe that it’s not what medium you use, but how you use it. A magazine didn’t win Silver, how it delivered its message did.”

Marketing Magazine’s prestigious Sparks Awards is recognised to celebrate the best media solutions, products and services in the region. The winners were decided by a high-level roster of judges including: Siew Wai Wong, Chief Executive Officer at Vizeum Media Malaysia; Puneet Arora, CEO Singapore, Philippines & Thailand at GroupM; Rajat Basra, Chief Executive Officer, OmnicomMediaGroup Indonesia; and Tharaputh Charuvatana, Chief Executive Officer, IPG Mediabrands Thailand.
