Kuala Lumpur, June 5, 2015: Mongoose Publishing today announced the appointment of Kate Guest as the new Editor-In-Chief of ELLE Malaysia.

Guest is a journalist with 12 years of experience working on some of the biggest magazine brands in the world. She studied law and journalism in Melbourne, graduating from the prestigious RMIT journalism school in 2003, and began her career at Melbourne magazine, Australia’s first city-focused glossy. In 2005 she moved to London, where she spent seven years working for both custom and consumer titles across the fashion, luxury, travel and food sectors. Her last role before moving to Malaysia in 2012 was with Jamie Oliver’s food and lifestyle magazine, Jamie. Kate joined Mongoose in October 2013 as deputy editor on the launch of ELLE Malaysia, and in November 2014 was promoted to editor of, ELLE’s award-winning website.

In her new role, Guest will be overseeing the print and digital platforms of the fashion media brand and reporting to Lynette Ow, Editorial Director.

She has a keen understanding of what is important and relevant to the target audience. Guest is taking over from Andrea Wong, who has mutually agreed to part ways with Mongoose Publishing. Wong has been at the helm of ELLE Malaysia since its launch in February 2014 and was responsible for appointing the talented editorial team and leading them to create engaging content for stylish, successful women.
