The Best of Malaysia Awards are organised yearly by Expatriate Lifestyle, Malaysia’s number one expatriate magazine, and are the biggest travel and hospitality awards. They are 100 per cent nominated and voted by a key community who invigorates the industry: well-travelled expatriates who live in Malaysia.

“Expatriates in Malaysia and visitors to the country are looking for the complete package in their holiday destinations, and the shortlisted outlets and properties display excellence across the board. If this year’s Best of Malaysia Awards have been about one thing in particular, it’s experiences. The winners in each of our 18 categories provide the best of the best experiences, combining exceptional service, locations, facilities and activities to create truly world-class destinations which expatriates in Malaysia are privileged to be able to visit on a regular basis,” said Ian Johnston.

Joining the evening celebration this year were 400 of the top names from the travel and hospitality industry in Malaysia, including General Managers from the top hotels, resorts and spas. Bespoke trophies were presented to 18 winners while certificates were presented to 54 Excellence Award winners; all chosen from shortlists over a 13-week voting period until October 1, 2014 on

“This is the ninth edition of the Best of Malaysia Awards and this year’s votes are record-breaking. We have seen the industry grow from strength to strength and as such, we consider this a big win for the overall tourism industry in Malaysia as well,” concluded Johnston.
