Time Out & the French Art & Film Festival
13 May- 2 June 2010: The French Art and Film Festival in Malaysia was set to showcase the colourful French culture in Kuala Lumpur and Penang: chamber music and Nouvelle Scene concerts, design
exhibition, film festival and dance performance, the 2010 edition delivered the best possible cultural experience.
Jointly organized with Golden Screen Cinemas, the French Film Festival section
offered 8 recently released French movies .This well known rendez-vous showcased some of the best French cinematic landscape. This included some of the latest releases such as Coco before Chanel by Anne Fontaine, Largo Winch by Jérôme Salle and Afterwards by Gilles Bourdos.
The FAFF 2010 also presented performing arts to Malaysia. The Malaysian audience loved the unforgettable Chamber music concert by Trio con Fuoco at the word-class Dewan Filharmonik Petronas. Last be not least, Mouron transported the audience to a Parisian cabaret scene through the best of French love songs!
The works of two famous French artists were showcased through dance and exhibition.
Shanmuga Sundaram presented his interpretation of Rodin's sculptures through the
vibrancy of Bharatanatyam dance while an exhibition on Charlotte Perriand, the French
pioneer of interior architecture displayed a compilation of her work from drawings to
furniture.
Time Out KL was proud to be the official magazine for this wonderful and vibrant festival, which saw the best of France in the heart of KL.
