HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIME OUT KL!
Today sees the release of the March issue of Time Out Kuala Lumpur. The bold, eye-catching and controversial cover – a play on the old Sex Pistols album ‘Never Mind The Bollocks’ – symbolises the twelfth edition of TOKL.
In its first year, Time Out KL has already established itself as the go-to guide for residents and visitors to the Malaysian capital. Working under the guidance of Time Out London but being 100% written and produced here in Kuala Lumpur, the magazine has become a trusted tool in a marketplace dominated by PR-led uncritical and unbelievable journalism.
All Time Out KL’s reviews are honest and none are the result of ‘freebies’ or favours done to advertisers. This approach runs contrary to just about every other magazine in the city but true to the founding principles of Time Out London, established over forty years ago.
Next month’s one year anniversary issue of Time Out KL will see a handful of exciting changes to reflect the desires of our readers, who have been very vocal in their support and in offering feedback. One change sees Travel given its own section and cover page. It will also be move to the back of the magazine to reflect the fact it comes after the editorial about what to do and where to go within KL. Body and Mind and Shopping have been merged into one, compelling section called Consume. Meanwhile, the feature section has been strengthened, as the interesting, alternative coverage of the hot topics in KL is what our readers have enjoyed and have asked to see more of.
Watch www.timeoutkl.com for some more lively, controversial, but 100% honest, independent and trustworthy features, previews, reviews and listings as TOKL goes into its second year.
