Mongoose in Singapore Crowned Media Publishing Company of the Year

* Mongoose Publishing Pte Ltd achieve 13 award wins, 8 merit awards and retain title as “Media Publishing Company of the Year”

* Esquire Singapore win 9 categories including Lifestyle/Entertainment Media of the Year; Feature Article of the Year; Front Cover of the Year; and Social Media Campaign of the Year.

* Time Out Singapore win 4 categories including Consumer Website of the Year and Mobile App of the Year

Mongoose Publishing secured a record haul at the MPAS Awards last night. Mongoose brands Esquire Singapore and Time Out Singapore swept the board with nine and four category wins respectively.

A group of experienced and respected judges made up of many of the country’s top media and advertising professionals gave Mongoose a total of 21 award wins and merit awards, plus the title of “Media Publishing Company of the Year” for the second consecutive year.

Last night’s ceremony saw Mongoose claim a record number of awards for Esquire Singapore and Time Out Singapore. Esquire was judged Lifestyle/Entertainment Media of the Year as well as Men’s Media of the Year, while Wayne Cheong was Journalist of the Year and Nicolas Ng Advertising Sales Professional of the Year, with Janie Cai receiving a merit award for Editor of the Year. There was also success in the Feature Article, Front Cover, Social Media Campaign, Videography, and Special Edition of the Year categories.

Time Out Singapore also celebrated record success with the Consumer Website, Integrated Media Brand, Licensed Media and Mobile App of the Year awards. Gwen Pew received a merit award for Journalist of the Year.

The MPAS Industry Awards are independently judged by a select group of esteemed judges, among which for this year were Andrew Thomas, Regional Director Southeast Asia/Managing Director, Singapore of Ogilvy PR; Christel Quek, Regional Content Lead (Asia, Middle East, Africa) of Twitter; Angelo Augustus, Managing Director of Pertama Holdings Limited; Hammad Rajjoub, Architect Advisor, Microsoft Singapore; John Bailey, Managing Director, Ketchum Icon; Matthew Drury, Agency Development Lead (APAC), Facebook; and Joanna Catalano, Head of New Products and Solutions (SEA) of Google.
