ELLE Malaysia welcomes Beauty Editor, Deputy Editor, and Editor of ELLE.my ahead of launch

1 October 2013, Kuala Lumpur: ELLE Malaysia magazine is proud to unveil three key roles ahead of the early-2014 launch of the world famous media brand in Malaysia. Editor-in-Chief Andrea Wong proudly unveiled three smart, dynamic young women with extensive experience to join her team at Mongoose Publishing Sdn Bhd. These are the ladies in whose capable hands the Malaysian edition of the world’s number one women’s fashion media brand will rest.

Wong introduced Tengku Zainab Ajlaa as Beauty Editor. Tengku Zai is the top beauty expert in the Malaysian women’s fashion industry with her finger firmly on the pulse of beauty trends in the region and across the world. She has contributed for many years for prestigious magazines like Harper’s Bazaar Malaysia and The Malaysian Women’s Weekly, presenting local readers with relevant and newsworthy advice and information, making her a trusted and respected name in the beauty industry.

Tengku Zai has experience and knowledge in the beauty industry’s scientific advancements and an ability to spot market shifts and runway trends. This has brought countless opportunities to meet and interview key industry players and legends both locally and internationally. She has also been responsible for managing various editorial projects and advertorial booklets with great success.

ELLE Malaysia also welcome their Deputy Editor-Kate Guest, a highly-qualified and internationally experienced journalist and subeditor with nine years’ experience writing and editing for some of the world’s best fashion, food, travel and lifestyle magazines in the UK, Australia and Malaysia. Kate has written and subedited for prestigious publications including Jamie (UK), Harper’s Bazaar (Australia & Malaysia), Australian Gourmet Traveller, Food & Travel (UK), Going Places (Malaysia Airlines) and Tatler (Malaysia) to name a few.

Proving the exciting digital developments in store with ELLE Malaysia, Mongoose Publishing also today unveiled Anucyia Victor to be Editor of the website ELLE.my. The website for ELLE Malaysia will deliver a fresh digital experience of the ELLE brand and Anucyia is the experienced hand in charge of shaping the site’s content. She is an outgoing and proactive editor with over a decade of experience writing and editing (both print and online) for exciting global titles like the Daily Mail, Enquirer Series, That’s Life! Magazine, Men’s Folio, Kunang, Time Out KL and Time Out Malaysia having worked in London and Kuala Lumpur.

“Tengku Zai, Kate Guest, and Anucyia Victor are the very definition of the ELLE woman” explained Andrea Wong, speaking from the Paris Fashion Week where she is currently representing ELLE Malaysia. “We considered the very best talent in Malaysia for these roles and I am delighted that in these smart, savvy ladies we have the very best. I can’t wait to get back to KL and begin working with them to produce the best female fashion magazine and digital experience Malaysia has seen. I am looking forward to positively redefining the way women are portrayed and engaged with in Malaysia.”
